We are excited to announce our new and reelected Great Plains Board Members! The Board is an integral part of the Region in policy-making and overall management of the Region to continue striving towards improvement. We are fortunate to have a very talented group helping guide the Great Plains Region.

New Board Member:
Jonie Fader: At-Large

Jonie Fader has 20+ years of experience in volleyball and management. She has been the owner of Capital City Volleyball Club (Helena, MT) and Nebraska Volleyball Academy (Kearney, NE), Nebraska AAU Volleyball Director, volleyball official, and volleyball coach. Along with her extensive volleyball resume, Fader has also had her hand in developing boys club volleyball in Montana, which is an area the Great Plains Commissioner, Craig Wiedel, is wanting to develop.

“Having been a college athlete, volleyball official, coach, volleyball club owner/director in Montana and central Nebraska has given me a unique perspective to not only support existing sport organizations but also to see not only where growth can occur but also how to grow the game for all ages,” says Fader. She is excited for the opportunity to work with the Region, stating, “I enjoy working alongside others who share a vision for developing young athletes in all areas of life and developing family opportunities in the sport of volleyball.  Being born and raised in rural central Nebraska has provided experiences showing me that not only young athletes and families but entire communities can benefit from positive volleyball opportunities.”

Reelected Board Members:

Rick Pruett: Vice President

Pruett has been the Club Director of Midwest Volleyball Power (MVP) United in North Sioux City, SD since its inception 8 years ago. His impressive resume includes 18 years of collegiate Head Coaching experience where he has accumulated over 400 wins and 3 NAIA National Tournament appearances, 24 years of USA Junior Olympic Coaching (notching over 500 wins), and 6 years of High School Coaching experience. Coach Pruett is a USAVB CAP 1 Certified, IMPACT Certified and SafeSport Certified Coach. In addition, Coach Pruett is PAVO certified and officiates NAIA and NCAA DI and DII matches.

Mader is currently the associate director and master coach at VCNebraska volleyball club based out of Lincoln. Prior, Mader served as a graduate assistant and volunteer assistant coach at the University of Nebraska from 2013-15, helping guide the Huskers to the 2015 NCAA Division I national championship. Nebraska advanced to the Elite Eight in both 2013 and 2014. For three seasons, he coached with the Sports Performance Volleyball Club in Chicago. In 2012, Mader led the 18 Red team to an AAU national championship in the club division. The following season, Mader assisted with the 18 Elite team that won the national title in the open division. Prior to his coaching career, Mader played collegiately as a setter at Indiana University Purdue-Ft. Wayne from 2009-12. A setter, Mader amassed 2,231 career assists, good for seventh in IPFW history.

This is a very talented group that will be joining and rejoining our Board. With their extensive experience in volleyball and impressive resumes, we are excited for the opportunity to grow the Great Plains Region with the help of these three
